# Find cases

> Search, filter, map, and browse public missing and unidentified person records.

Open the [dashboard](https://dashboard.casedock.net/app), pick a record type tab, and use search, filters, and indexes to narrow the list. Select any case to see its details and source links.

## Record types

CaseDock has dedicated galleries for each record type, with the same filters and indexes throughout:

* **Missing**: missing persons records from NamUs and the Doe Network
* **Unidentified**: records of unidentified remains from NamUs and the Doe Network
* **Unclaimed**: unclaimed persons records from NamUs
* **Solved**: solved case listings from the Doe Network

## Search and filters

Search by name, case number, CaseDock ID, or place. Then narrow results by:

* Sex
* Source
* State
* Age range
* Dates
* Foul-play indicators

### Ask AI to filter

Type a plain-English question, like "women missing from Ohio since 2010", and CaseDock fills in the filters for you.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Check the generated filters before relying on the results.

## Indexes

Browse missing and unidentified people:

* **Chronologically**, by year or period
* **Geographically**, by the state and county where they were last seen or found

## Case map

The [case map](https://dashboard.casedock.net/map) shows records on one map. You can:

* Search within a radius of a case
* Switch to a heatmap view
* Compare missing and unidentified records in the same area

Locations are approximate and published by the source.

## CaseDock IDs

Every case has a permanent CaseDock ID, like `CD-M-0000123`, and a link you can share or save.

## News coverage

From a case overview, find recent news mentions shown as links to the original articles.

## Daily case allowance

On the free plan, each distinct public case you open counts once toward your 400-case daily allowance. Reopening the same case on the same day doesn't use more. The allowance resets daily at midnight UTC. Paid plans include unlimited access. See [Plans and pricing](https://docs.casedock.net/account/plans.md).
