# Community, tips, and families

> Join the forum, comment on cases, submit tips, and request family verification.

## Community forum

The [CaseDock community](https://community.casedock.net/community) lets you start topics, reply, and report anything that breaks the rules. You can post to the community straight from a case.

## Case comments

Leave comments on case records to pick up where you left off. Case comments require CaseDock Plus or Explorer.

## Submit a tip

**1. Open the case**

Find the case and open its page.

**2. Choose Submit a tip**

Describe what you know. Your name and email are visible to staff only.

**3. Choose your privacy**

You can ask to stay hidden if staff share the tip with the family.

**4. Follow up**

Track your tips on the [Family & tips](https://dashboard.casedock.net/family) page.

Staff review every tip by hand.

> [!WARNING]
>
> CaseDock is independent and is not law enforcement. It can't promise a tip will be acted on. For urgent or actionable information, contact the investigating agency. Call 911 if someone is in danger.

## Family verification

Relatives can ask staff to verify them:

1. Open the case and choose **I'm family of this person**.
2. Explain how you're related.
3. Staff approve requests by hand and may email you to confirm.

Verified family members can read tips that staff choose to share (without the tipster's identity) and publish a reviewed note on the case.

> [!NOTE]
>
> On unidentified cases, the same form is an inquiry only. It is never an identification.
