# Usage, limits, and errors

> Monthly request allowance, rate limits, usage headers, and error codes.

## Monthly allowance

Developer Access includes 100,000 requests per account per UTC month, shared across all active API keys.

Every response includes usage headers:

| Header | Description |
| - | - |
| `X-API-Usage-Limit` | Your monthly request allowance |
| `X-API-Usage-Remaining` | Requests remaining this month |
| `X-API-Usage-Reset` | When the allowance resets |

## Rate limits

Requests are also subject to endpoint-specific short-window rate limits.

## Errors

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `400` | Invalid parameters |
| `401` | Missing or invalid credentials |
| `403` | Developer Access is inactive |
| `429` | A request limit was reached |
| `502` | A public data source is unavailable |
